The student association "firstcontact" organizes, in cooperation with the DIT Career Service, an annual job fair each spring at the Deggendorf Town Halls, where around 180 companies regularly present themselves.
In addition, the Career Service offers seminars on how to apply successfully and how to make the most of your visit at the job fair, helping you benefit from the event.

TalentConnect brings together international students, companies, and alumni in an innovative hybrid recruiting and networking format. Instead of a traditional job fair, participants experience real conversations, student insights, and sustainable visibility.
The event begins with a get-together including snacks and drinks, offering a relaxed opportunity to get to know each other. Afterwards, company booths on campus as well as a digital corner for virtual participation provide opportunities to connect directly with companies.
The program is complemented by short career impulses from alumni and successful students, offering insights into career paths, entry opportunities, and international perspectives.
In addition, TalentConnect includes digital offerings such as online company profiles, an online job wall with current vacancies, and digital company pitches that remain available on demand.

20 years of hochschule dual – Stronger together
For 20 years, hochschule dual has stood for the successful combination of academic study and practical experience, as well as for close cooperation between universities and businesses in Bavaria. In its anniversary year, 2026, several DualForen events will take place across Bavaria to promote dialogue, address current issues relating to dual study programmes and provide fresh impetus for recruiting skilled workers.
DualForum at the DIT – Anniversary Programme
The Deggendorf Institute of Technology, in collaboration with HAW Landshut, invites cooperation partners and interested companies to the DualForum on 28 October 2026 in Deggendorf.
The focus will be on practical insights into social media recruitment, employer branding and the successful integration of study and work experience. Interactive World Cafés will provide a space for discussion with experts from businesses and universities.

Joint Studies & Studies with In-Depth Practice
The programmes at DIT
Hochschule Dual is aimed at prospective students who are determined and performance-oriented and addresses companies that are actively involved in the development of the next generation of employees. The cooperate study programme, the close interlocking of theory and practice during the course of studies, offers great advantages for students and companies.
Both joint studies and studies with in-depth practical experience are basically possible in every course of study and with every company. We are happy to advise interested companies. Please contact us.
HOCHSCHULE DUAL explained
The options, including sample contracts
This programme combines full-time study at the university with vocational training (leading to an IHK/HWK qualification) at a training company. The first year of training takes place at the company a year before you start your studies. After the first year of training, the practical phases generally take place during the semester breaks, the practical semester and the Bachelor’s thesis. During the regular lecture period, you are a full-time student.

In addition to the chambers (IHK / HWK), we also offer a model contract for the combined study programme.

The full-time degree programme at the university is combined with intensive practical phases during the semester breaks, the practical semester and the bachelor’s thesis, all of which take place within a company. During the regular lecture term, you are a full-time student.

It is also possible to complete the Master’s degree as a programme with in-depth practical experience. Further information can also be found at hochschule-dual.de.
The Master’s programme, structured as a course with an in-depth practical component, lasts 1.5 years (3 semesters) on a full-time basis. Students spend at least 34 weeks (or at least half of the standard duration of study) in a company, primarily during the semester breaks and while working on their industry-focused Master’s thesis, which forms the culmination and conclusion of the programme.

Depending on the programme, you can start your studies in either the summer or winter semester.
In general, all Bachelor’s degree programmes at DIT can be undertaken either as a joint study programme or as a programme with in-depth practice. These two models are based on the concepts of ‘hochschule dual’. hochschule dual is the umbrella brand for dual study programmes at Bavarian universities of applied sciences.
The degree programmes listed below have already been assessed for the ‘dual’ profile characteristic in accordance with the existing provisions of the BayStudAkkV / Section 12(6) MVRO. However, this accreditation process does not alter the fact that all Bachelor’s degree programmes can be studied under the above-mentioned models: the combined study programme and the study programme with in-depth practical training. Deggendorf Institute of Technologyy has been system-accredited by the ASIIN agency since 9 September 2020.
To participate in a dual study programme, companies must enter into a cooperation agreement with the university. The guidelines for practice semesters, which include information on the fields of activity, apply to every degree programme.
Pupils are welcome to apply on their own initiative to the companies of their choice – regardless of the list below – for a dual study programme (combined study programme or programme with in-depth practical training). Please contact us at dual@th-deg.de and discuss the company with us.
The study place portal of hochschule dual also offers assistance in finding a suitable company. A cooperation agreement between the company and DIT for the dual study programme must be concluded by the time dual students begin their studies at DIT at the latest.

- Degree programmes in Electrical and Information Technology and Industrial Engineering / Maintenance and Operation in the apprenticeship trades of Electronics Technician for Automation Technology, Electronics Technician for Energy and Building Technology, and Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering with the Europa Berufsschule Weiden i.d. Obf

Here is what Geoplan, a dual study partner, has to say about the cooperative study programmes at DIT:

“There are many reasons for offering dual study programmes. Companies engage with motivated, committed young people at an early stage, thereby securing a supply of qualified specialists and staff. Through the dual study programme and their long-term involvement and support within the company, these individuals form close, long-term ties with the organisation. During the dual study programme, companies have the opportunity to support their future skilled workers and staff on an individual basis and to train them in the areas of work and tasks where either the company has a need or where the dual student’s specific skills and knowledge can be put to best use.
