The future holder of this position will be expected to support international teaching, primarily in English, within the bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes of the Faculty of Applied Economics (AWW) / School of Management. Extensive international management experience (preferably gained outside Europe) in the fields of marketing, sales, and human resource management is required. In addition, we expect the ability to design learning environments that prepare students for employment in a global, intercultural context. Particular emphasis is placed on intercultural training, team building, global leadership, and international negotiation. Furthermore, the ability and willingness to conduct courses in German is also required.
We also expect a readiness to contribute to academic self-governance and to the further development of the Faculty of Applied Economics.

Appointment to the W1 junior professorship is limited to a maximum of six years and will be made either as a fixed-term public service appointment or under an employment contract. Within the framework of the W1 junior professorship on the doctoral track, candidates must demonstrate a particular aptitude for academic research, which is generally evidenced by the quality of their doctoral degree.
The standard teaching requirement for full-time junior professors (W1) at universities of applied sciences is 6 to 9 teaching units per week during the semester.

Focus on research
The Deggendorf Institute of Technology is one of the most dynamic and ambitious Universities of Applied Sciences in Southern Germany renowned for excellence in research. R&D projects are always rooted in real-life cases, as research staff collaborate with regional and international companies from the private sector to develop innovative solutions for immediate application, mainly funded by national government and EU grants.
