If you already live in Pfarrkirchen, you probably know what the city has to offer. But if you're new here, I suppose you're wondering what to do, besides studying? Well, there are many options, and, in this post, I want to highlight some of them.
First of all, what to do depends on what you like to do. It depends on your lifestyle. But I bet you will find something interesting to do in Pfarrkirchen during your studies.
If you like outdoor activities, like walking, running or cycling, you are in the right place. A beautiful landscape surrounds the city with perfect trails and bike paths to get you out of your apartment. Just to give you an idea, to walk around here there are four main routes, well signposted and maintained. The routes are, Rota Fitness 1 (10.9 km); Rota Fitness 2 (12.8km); Vital Route (8.5 km); and Jungbrunnen route (4.5 km); this last signposted with Nordic Walking Technik.
Cycling is another excellent option, and you can go, for example, to Eggenfelden (15 km), Bad Birnbach (15 km), and Arnstof (24 km). There is also a public outdoor public gym near the Stadtwerke. It is a good way to get fit for free. As you can see, there is no reason to stop moving and doing outdoor activities while living in Pfarrkirchen.
The city also has a Bowling Center, located near to the train station. It is an ideal place to meet people and have fun with friends. For the summer, when the temperature rises, you have an excellent swimming pool (Erlebnisbad), where you can spend a pleasant day with friends.
Another tip is to have a picnic on the edge of the beautiful lake, called Rottauensee, in Postmünster, a nearby village (4,5 km). There you can also walk or cycle around the lake, passing the Rottaler Golf and Country Club and enjoying the fantastic scenery. If you like to play tennis, Pfarrkirchen also has some tennis courts.
How about studying or reading in a pleasant and comfortable place? The city has a public library (Stadtbücherei) close to the train station, with perfect space for your study moments.
All these tips add to the excellent infrastructure the city has with banks, hospital, government offices, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, bars, and stores, which make it just perfect for your international experience. Almost everything you need you can buy here, from onion for your new recipe to a car to go around.
Welcome to Pfarrkirchen!
