Since Sept 2024 works as Head of Information Technologies Department in the Healthcare Area of Santiago de Compostela, at Galician Healthcare Service, and for more than 20 years in theInformation Technologies Deparment at central services of Galician Healthcare Service (SERGAS), a public institution which provides healthcare services to more than 2.700.000 citizens in Galicia.
From his position He works in the evolution, deployment and development of IT solutions at regional level: Electronic Health Record, Personal Health Record, ePrescription, MedicalImaging in Radiology, Digital Pathology or Radiotherapy, Telemonitoring System, Patient Portal, Big Data systems, Federated Data Spaces, EHDS or Artificial Intelligence solutions.
Javier has also lead several Public Procurement of Innovation Programmes at Galician Health Services, such as “Codigo100”, “Hospital 2050” and “Innova Saúde”. He has also worked as Researcher in Medical Imaging in the University of Santiago de Compostela delivering several publications in scientific journals, and collaborates on severalnetworks around eHealth, such as EIP-AHA or mHealth working groups, and participates in several National and EU projects focused on eHealth such as Regions4Permed, Procure4Health, Tartaglia or Innovatrial.
